Bible Study 

The education ministry of Winterville First Baptist believes Sunday School (Bible study) is a strategy to lead people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and to build on-mission Christians by engaging people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry and worship through ongoing, evangelistic Bible study units in an atmosphere of compassion where the gospel can be shared. We believe each person must decide and make a commitment to put into practice what we know to be true.

Winterville uses the LifeWay Family Bible Study series curriculum of the Southern Baptist Convention. The Family Bible Series is an age graded Bible study approach that provides a selection of age-appropriate learner guides based on the same scripture passage. 

Each lesson is planned around a biblical worldview and uses comprehensive, balanced, and appropriately sequenced study of Bible books, people, doctrine, history and classic Bible passages.

Our curriculum is closely graded for preschoolers, children, youth and adults.

Adults

We believe in studying God's Word and that it is a privilege to share what we learn in class with all people in our surrounding area longing to know Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Friendly faces will greet you at the doors and will assist you in finding the best class for you and your family.         

In the adult area the curriculum is 

• Life Answers for ages 18-30
• Life Truths for ages 31-54
• Life Ventures for ages 55 & up

We offer many more age graded classes to select from and occasionally offer elective classes. There is a class for you if you are a newly-wed or a senior adult.

Youth

Winterville agrees with LifeWay Youth Sunday School statements. "Student Sunday School is more than music, donuts, and Bible study. It's a lifestyle extending beyond the classroom. It's about connecting - relating a Sunday morning Bible lesson with a Monday morning decision. Its' learning to imitate Christ by serving others outside our comfort zone. It's about commitment - determined to stand strong even when no one is watching. It's knowing what's right is not always what's easiest." 

Winterville is using the Fuel curriculum. Fuel: Igniting New Life with God's Word. It is a DVD and discussion-driven curriculum. Come get fueled up for next week.

Pre-Teen

Fifth and Sixth graders (or pre-teen) study a curriculum designed for them. It is an entire year's worth of Bible study that helps them as they prepare for the teen years.

Children

Winterville agrees with LifeWay Children's Sunday School statements. "Children's Sunday School is more than an hour of Bible study at church. It's the foundation to support a child's life. It's about beginnings--starting to recognize the Bible as more than just a book carried to church. It's learning to respond to others with attitudes and actions of love and respect." 

"It's discovering a conscience - knowing what's right and wrong based on what the Bible says. It's believing that when you pray, God is listening. Most importantly, its about learning to love others because God first loved us."  The Children's curriculum is for Grades 1-4.
    

Preschool
