WFBC WOMEN’S BOOK CLUB

The Book Club is open to all ladies who enjoy good Christian fiction.  We meet every two months for breakfast and a lively book discussion.  As sisters in Christ, we support and encourage each other in our walk with the Lord.  If you enjoy good books and good fellowship, we invite you to join us.  Just come by the Media Center to sign up or contact us at media@wintervillefbc.org

Our first meeting was March 17, 2001 at the home of Maylin Ashe.  We discussed The Heart Reader by Terri Blackstock.  As of March 2012 we have read 46 wonderful books!  

Recent Book Club Meeting

On Saturday, March 10th the WFBC Women’s Book Club met at the home of Karen Matthews to discuss Wonderland Creek by Lynn Austin. There were 12 members present including one new member.  One of the major themes of our book was related to James 2:17, namely that faith without action is dead. In the book, the main character experiences a spiritual transformation.  At the beginning of the novel, Allie's faith is superficial at best.  Then she visits a mountain community in Kentucky and has the unique opportunity of serving the people there. Soon her service, trials and new relationships cause her outlook to change and her faith to deepen.  Wonderland Creek is a carefully researched and well written work of historical fiction. We highly recommend this book.

Current Book Selection and Upcoming Meeting

Our next meeting will be at 9:30a.m. on Saturday, May 5th, at the home of Debbie Lester.  We will discuss Not In The Heart by Chris Fabry.  To find out more about this book, go to www.chrisfabry.com and read the description and watch the trailer.  This book is going to be a winner!!!!
